Change in Schedule

November 21st, 2008

busy.jpgA few people have written emails, noticing that my posting has slowed down lately, and I owe an explanation. It’s really simple and boring: I’ve been really busy. Job’s busy… family’s busy (if you knew my daughters, you’d want to spend a lot of time with them too)

Also, I’ve been putting a lot of time into some other projects that I think could be pretty cool. So I’ve had to cut the comic back to about 1/week lately.

I’m going to make that publishing schedule official for a while. I’ll be posting one per week in general, unless I have time to do more. It means a lot to me that y’all take the time to read We The Robots. I hope you will keep reading at this slower pace.

Thank you!

A Plug for “60 Ways to Leave Your Mother (Alone)”

September 25th, 2008

60ways2.jpgIt’s plug week! I want to mention another online project from my friend Michael Buckley– a comic called 60 Ways to Leave Your Mother (Alone).

He captures, I think beautifully, all these tiny details of childhood. I believe he draws it all by hand, using a pen he fashioned from a shiv he fashioned from a toothbrush. And the ink is made from copier toner mixed with blood and saliva. Anyway… it’s wonderful, and you’ll want to slow down and take your time looking at it.

A plug for The Daily Rhyme

September 21st, 2008

stu2.jpgI’ve got a few things I want to plug this week. First plug for the week is my friend Scott Emmons’ new daily humorous verse site, The Daily Rhyme.

I’ve worked with Scott on several projects. My favorite was a book he wrote that I had the privilege of illustrating, called “Myth-Demeaners”– a series of Greek Myths, told in verse. (Scott used to be a classics professor) click here for a few samples.

Every day, Scott will be posting a short verse about whatever is making his brain itch. I always enjoy working with him, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading The Daily Rhyme.
